KING'S GOLFERS 4TH AT MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
SHAWNEE on the DELAWARE, PA
-- The King's College golf team
finished in fourth place on the final day of the 54-hole Middle Atlantic
Conference Championships Sunday at Shawnee Country Club, Shawnee on the
Delaware.
The Monarchs, who were third after the first day when the team scored a
492 after the opening 27 holes, improved to 487 during the second round,
but slipped to fourth in the standings.
Greg Stockley of FDU-Florham won the MAC title with a 219 over 54 holes,
while Jeff Slivinski of Scranton was second at 227. Nick Van Hook and
Joe Scioscia of Delaware Valley were third at 231 while FDU's Pat Walsh
was fifth.
King's top finisher was freshman Mike Wagner who was eighth with a
two-day total of 236. With his finish, Wagner was awarded
second-team All-Freedom Conference honors.
Sophomore Mike Kane and freshman Frank Schiel were tied for 12th with
identical scores of 245. Senior Brian Rogish finished 23rd with a
score of 258 while fellow senior Sean Apanovich came in 28th at 261.
