KANE FINISHES 3RD AT FREEDOM CONFERENCE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
SHAWNEE ON THE DELAWARE -- King's College freshman Mike Kane tied for
third place in the MAC Freedom Conference Golf Championships, concluding
Sunday at Shawnee Country Club, Shawnee on the Delaware.
Kane, who fired a 117 over the first 27 hole on Saturday, matched his
first-round score with a 117 on Sunday to shoot a 234. Kane tied for
third with Jeff Slivinski of the University of Scranton who scored an
identical 117-117 over the course of the two day event.
Mike Everingham of Delaware Valley won medalist honors after following
up a 112 on Saturday with a 116 on Sunday to shoot a 228. Sameer Khan of
FDU-Florham was second with a 229, shooting a 116 on Saturday while
scoring a Sunday best 113.
Other King's golfers in the event included Ron Stavish who scored a 256
after shooting a 125 on Sunday. Brian Rogish shot a day-two score of 130
to finish with a 261. Sean Apanovich carded a 133 on Sunday to check in
at 162. J.C. Blewitt rounded out the Monarch contingent with a 126 on
Sunday to score a 263.
