KING'S GOLFERS FINISH THIRD IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
HERSHEY -- The King's College golf team finished in third place as the Freedom Conference Tournament concluded Sunday at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
The Monarchs, who shot a 331 the first day, fell off pace the second day, scoring a 351 to finish with 682 total strokes.
FDU-Florham, which was third after the first day of the event with a 333, fired a 331 the second day to score a 664 and edge day-one leader Manhattanville by one stroke. The Valiants recorded a 322 the first day, but faltered the second day with a 343 to end the event with a score of 665.
Greg Stockley of FDU-Florham captured the Freedom Conference title after winning a two-hole playoff with Javier Vargas of Manhattanville. Both players shot a two-day score of 161.
King's Mike Kane, who was second after the first day with a 79, shot a day-two score of 89 to finish tied for eighth place, along with teammate Brian Kerstetter, with a 168. Kersetter was 12th after the first day but shot an 82 on Sunday.
Frank Schiel, who was 11th the first day with an 82, finished tied for 14th by posting a 173 after scoring a 91 on Sunday. Mike Wagner also shot a 173 for King's, scoring an 84 on day one but carding an 89 on Sunday.
Greg Galowni, who was 17th after the first day with an 88, shot a 93 on Sunday to finished tied for 25th with a 181,
