KING'S FOOTBALL PICKED TO FINISH TIED FOR THIRD IN 2007 MAC
PRE-SEASON COACHES POLL
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College football team was picked to finish in
a third-place tie with Delaware Valley College as the Middle Atlantic
Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll was announced Tuesday at the MAC
Football Media Luncheon. The event was held on the King's College
campus at the Sheehy-Farmer Student Center.
Defending MAC champion Wilkes was picked as the pre-season favorite,
receiving 55 points and five of the eight first-place votes. Widener was
second with 47 points and two first-place votes. King's and
Delaware Valley were third with 34 points, but the Aggies received one
first-place vote.
The Monarchs, who were 6-5 overall and 6-3 in the MAC a year ago, will
officially open pre-season camp on Monday, August 13.
King's will open its most difficult schedule ever on September 1 when
the Monarchs host 2006 NCAA Division III National Playoff semi-finalist
St. John Fisher at 1:30 p.m. at Robert L. Betzler Fields.
