KING'S FOOTBALL PICKED TO FINISH TIED FOR THIRD IN 2007 MAC PRE-SEASON COACHES POLL

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College football team was picked to finish in a third-place tie with Delaware Valley College as the Middle Atlantic Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll was announced Tuesday at the MAC Football Media Luncheon.  The event was held on the King's College campus at the Sheehy-Farmer Student Center.

Defending MAC champion Wilkes was picked as the pre-season favorite, receiving 55 points and five of the eight first-place votes. Widener was second with 47 points and two first-place votes.  King's and Delaware Valley were third with 34 points, but the Aggies received one first-place vote.

The Monarchs, who were 6-5 overall and 6-3 in the MAC a year ago, will officially open pre-season camp on Monday, August 13.

King's will open its most difficult schedule ever on September 1 when the Monarchs host 2006 NCAA Division III National Playoff semi-finalist St. John Fisher at 1:30 p.m. at Robert L. Betzler Fields.
