MONARCH MEN FALL TO ELIZABETHTOWN
ELIZABETHTOWN -- The Elizabethtown
College men's basketball team raced out to 84-71 half-time lead and
never looked back as the Blue Jays posted a 84-71 victory over King's
College in a non-conference men's basketball game Saturday in
Elizabethtown.
With the win, Elizabethtown improved to 3-5 on the year while the
Monarchs fell to 4-4.
Elizabethtown shot a scorching 63.0 (17-27) from the field in the first
half and led by as many as 23 points midway through the second half. The
Blue Jays shot 57.1 (32-56) percent from the floor for the game, while
the Monarchs shot s respectable 45.7 (21-46) from the field.
Greg Brizek and Mike Schatzmann led four Blue Jay scorers in double
figures with 18 points each while Luke Ledyard and Chad Piersol added 15
and 11 points respectively.
Vince Scalzo led King's with 19 points while Jim Welsh added 15 and Kofi
Dwebeng netted 10.
King's will be idle until December 20 when the Monarchs travel to Easton
to face Division I Lafayette College at 7:00 p.m.
