COUSART NAMED MAC FREEDOM PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College men's basketball standout Jamie Cousart has been named the MAC Freedom Conference "Player of the Week", the MAC office announced Tuesday.

It marked the second time in the past three weeks Cousart has received the honor.

A 6-3 sophomore point-guard, Cousart led King's to a pair of wins over two Freedom Conference squads picked ahead of the Monarchs in the pre-season coaches poll. For the week, Cousart averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per-game.

In a 71-55 win over Lycoming, he posted a game-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. In a 77-70 victory over DeSales, Cousart added 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. He shot 55.6 percent from the field and 76.2 percent from the foul line as the Monarchs posted their seventh straight victory.

Cousart and his Monarch teammates will travel to face the University of Scranton Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. in the John Long Center.
