KING'S COUSART NAMED MAC FREEDOM PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WILKES-BARRE -- King's College men's basketball standout Jamie Cousart
has been named the MAC Freedom Conference "Player of the Week".
A 6-3 sophomore point-guard, Cousart was named most valuable player of
the Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic December 20-21 after enjoying a pair of
outstanding all-around games.
Cousart averaged 18.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 3.0 steals,
and
1.5 blocks per-game, each standing as tournament bests for the Monarchs.
He also shot 45.0 (9-20) percent from the field and 95.0 (19-20) percent
from the foul line.
In a first-round 86-55 win over Susquehanna, Cousart scored 15 points
with eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. In a 78-68
come-from-behind win over Adrian College in the tournament championship
game, Cousart netted
22 points with a career-high 12 rebounds, while chipping in with eight
assists, four steals, and two blocks.
King's returns to action Saturday and Sunday with the Wilkes-Barre
Challenge at Wilkes University. King's will face Susquehanna University
Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Before playing Keystone College Sunday at 1:00
p.m.
