HORGAN POWERS KING'S TO WIN AT E-TOWN
WILKES-BARRE -- Brian Horgan scored a game-high
25 points to lead the King's College men's basketball team to a big 70-61
win at Elizabethtown College.
With the win, King's improved to 6-1 on the year and posted its first win
in four attempts over the Blue Jays during coach J.P. Andrejko's tenure with the
Monarchs. Elizabethtown slipped to 4-3.
Horgan was 9-of-16 from the field and added eight rebounds and three
assists. Marty O'Hora and Vince Scalzo added 11 points each while
Jim Welsh netted 10. Landon Gabriel dished out five assists
while Jamie Cousart contributed with six rebounds and four assists.
The Monarchs took a 39-34 half-time lead after shooting 50.0 (15-30)
percent in the opening stanza.
Kyle Conrad led the Blue Jays with 14 points and was the only
Elizabethtown player to reach double figures. John Connor, who
netted 30 points against the Monarchs last year, was held to just three
points on 1-of-10 shooting.
King's will next host Baptist Bible College Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
