STOKES, HORGAN LEAD MONARCHS PAST CHESTNUT HILL

PHILADELPHIA -- Jamar Stokes tossed in a tea-high 23 points while Brian Horgan added 19 to power the King's College men's basketball team to a 84-70 victory over Chestnut Hill College Tuesday in Philadelphia.

King's started out quickly with a 19-6 run over the first 6:16 of the game and took a comfortable 44-22 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, a scrappy Chestnut Hill team would cut into the lead several times before King's would counter. Chestnut Hill cut the Monarch advantage to 14 points but would draw no closer.

Horgan added 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while Dave Marks netted 10 points.  Marty O'Hora Chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

King's, which improved to 6-1, will next host two-time defending MAC Commonwealth Conference champion Elizabethtown College on Friday at 7:30 p.m.  The game, however, will be played at Wilkes University due to setup for the annual Century Club Dinner slated for Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium
