KING'S MEN FALL TO LYCOMING IN OVERTIME

WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College men's basketball team rallied from a 13-point half-time deficit to eventually fall in overtime to Lycoming College 77-74 Wednesday in Williamsport.

In the first half, King's made just 20.8 (5-24 percent of its shots and trailed 32-19 at the break.. In the second half, the Monarchs trailed 50-39 with 9:02 remaining before finally finding their offensive rhythm. King's went on a 6-0 spurt to creep back to within 50-45 when Brian Horgan drained a three-pointer and Britt Moore made three of four foul shots, the last coming with 7:59 left. Lycoming would extend the lead to 53-45 with 7:45 remaining on a three-point play from Matt Stackhouse but the Monarchs would rally.

King's would outscore Lycoming 16-10 to knot the score at 63-63 with 1:51 left. The Monarchs would suffer a blow when Horgan fouled out with 1:16 remaining after netting 28 points but King's hung tough and eventually tool

A bucket by Horgan was followed by a pair of foul shots from Jamar Stokes to bring the Monarchs to within 67-65 with 1:01 remaining. The Monarchs would finally take a 68-67 lead on a three-pointer from Marty O'Hora with 0:15 left in regulation. On the next possession Lycoming's Jonathan Pribble was fouled with 0:05 remaining and hit one of two foul shots to send the game into overtime.

In the extra frame, the teams would trade leads until Landon Gabriel made one of two foul shots to tie the score at 72-72 with 2:34 left. King's would take the lead on a basket by Britt Moore with 1:16 remaining but Stackhouse would score to tie the game at 74-74 with 0:53 left. After a King's miss, Lycoming took the lead when Brad Musser scored and was fouled with 0:03 left. Musser would convert the charity toss to push the score to 77-74. King's would have one last gasp when Gabriel's long three-pointer missed as the Warriors walked away with the win.

O'Hora was the only other King's player to score in double figures as he netted 15 points. Moore and Dave Marks added seven points each.  Stackhouse led Lycoming with 28 points while Pribble netted 17 while Lyle Huggler added 14.

King's travels to meet Drew Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Madison, NJ.
