KING'S MEN FALL TO DESALES, 79-72 TO FORGE FIRST-PLACE TIE

WILKES-BARRE - Jim Zinn netted 25 points while Kyle Koch added 22 t power the DeSales University men's basketball team to a 79-72 victory over King's College in an MAC Freedom Conference matchup Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, DeSales moved to within a half game of King's in the conference standings with an 17-3 overall record and a 7-2 Freedom Conference mark. King's stands at 17-4 and 8-2 in conference action.

King's trailed by 11 points with a minute remaining and clawed to within 77-72 on a pair of baskets by Dave Marks and a bucket by Dannie Evans with 0:20 left, but Kyle Koch cashed in a pair of charity tosses with 0:12 remaining to seal the victory.

King's was led by Marks who scored a career-high 26 points with seven rebounds. Jamar Stokes added 13 points while Landon Gabriel and Marty O'Hora chipped in with 11 and 10 respectively. King's leading scorer Brian Horgan was held to eight points on 3-of-8 shooting.

King's will next travel to Lycoming College Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at Lamade Gym in Williamsport.
