STOKES LEADS MONARCH MEN OVER DREW

WILKES-BARRE -- Jamar Stokes scored 27 points and added eight rebounds to power the King's College men's basketball team to a 78-58 victory over Drew University Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, King's improved to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the MAC Freedom Conference while Drew fell to 4-10 and 1-4.

Stokes was on fire for the Monarchs as he made his first seven three-point field goals for missing his final long-range attempt.  For the game, he made 10-of-15 shots.  

Brian Horgan enjoyed another solid all-around game with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals.  Britt Moore came off the bench to add 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Marty O'Hora netted 10 points to aid the Monarch cause.

Drew was led by Peter Boyer with 17 points while Bernard Buttone and Bob Carella chipped in with 12 and 11 points respectively.

King's will return to action Wednesday when the Monarchs host FDU-Florham at 8:00 p.m.
