MONARCHS SNAP TWO-GAME SKID WITH 77-64 WIN OVER DREW

WILKES-BARRE -- Jamar Stokes came off the bench to score 17 points with 10 rebounds to lead the King's College men's basketball team to a 77-64 win over Drew University Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, the Monarchs broke a two-game losing streak while improving to 13-7 overall and 6-3 in MAC Freedom Conference action. Drew fell to 4-14 and 2-7.

King's took a 43-28 lead into the half-time break but the Rangers battled back to 57-53 with 8:11 left in the game. The Monarchs closed out the contest with a 20-9 run to earn the win. The Monarchs also held a huge rebounding advantage, outboarding the Rangers 57-24.

Britt Moore was also outstanding for King's off the bench with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Dannie Evans netted 15 points while dishing out nine assists. Dave Marks added 11 point and 10 board while Kasim Holloman chipped in with 11 points.

Brad Greenman led Drew with 21 points, while Dave Millstein and Kelvin Henry chipped in with 10 each.

King's will travel to face Scranton Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
