FLAT MONARCHS DOWNED BY MISERICORDIA

WILKES-BARRE -- Willie Chandler scored a game-high 29 points to lead a red-hot College Misericordia squad to a 75-68 victory over King's in a non-conference matchup Monday in Dallas.

Misericordia (7-7) exploded out of the gates in the first half and raced out to a 41-26 lead at the break when the Cougars scorched the nets, making an astounding 77.3 (17-22) of its first half shots.

The Monarchs (10-5) would fight back to within 61-52 with 5:06 remaining but the Cougars countered with a 14-6 spurt to put the game away.

King's, which posted an emotional win over rival Scranton on Saturday, came out flat and shot just 29.4 (10-34) percent in the first half to dig itself a hole from which it could never escape.
Dannie Evans led King's with 13 points while Britt Moore and Kasim Holloman added 11 and 10 respectively.

The Monarchs will host Lycoming Wednesday in an important MAC Freedom Conference matchup at 8:00 p.m.
