KING'S DEFEATS SALISBURY 66-50

WILKES-BARRE -- Kasim Holloman scored a game-high 21 points to lead the King's College men's basketball team to a 66-50 victory over Salisbury University in the opening round of the Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, the Monarchs improved to 53 while Salisbury fell to 2-8.

King's, showing the affects of a 20-day break, struggled to a 25-19 halftime lead before tallying 41 points in the second half. Holloman also added three assists and three steals. Dannie Evans added 12 points and six assists for King's while Marty O'Hora chipped in with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Thomas Moore, Britt Moore, and Jonathan Veet added six points apiece.

Hasheem Alexander led Salisbury with 15 points.

King's will play Neumann in the championship game Sunday at 3:00 p.m.. Neumann defeated Susquehanna 87-61 in the other first round pairing. Susquehanna and Salisbury will square off for third place at 1:00 p.m.
