MEN DOWN ARCADIA 85-61 TO IMPROVE TO 6-0
GLENSIDE – The King’s College men’s basketball team raced out to
a 42-27
half-time lead and never looked
back as the Monarchs remained unbeaten at 6-0 with
a 85-61 victory over host Arcadia University Monday in Glenside.
The Monarchs received another balanced effort placing four players in
double-figures scoring. King’s was paced by
junior center Steve Hite with 14 points
and 10 rebounds. Kasim Holloman added 13 points four assists and four
steals while had Dave Marks 13 points and five
boards. Dannie Evans followed with 11
points and two steals, Dennis Hobbs chipped in with nine points and
five rebounds, while Brian Horgan contributed
nine points and four rebounds.
The Monarchs opened up a big first half lead by shooting 53.1 (17-32)
percent
from the floor. King’s
torched the nets in the second half, increasing their shooting
to 65.5 (19-29) percent to finish the game by making 59.0 (36-61) percent
from the floor. The Monarchs also forced 23 Arcadia turnovers which
resulted in 26 points.
Arcadia was led by Nick Siti and Brian Pelligrino with 16 and 14 points
respectively.
King’s will return to action Wednesday when the Monarchs host Drew
University
at 7:30 p.m. in the MAC
Freedom Conference opener for both teams.
