KING'S DOWN SUSQUEHANNA TO FINISH THIRD IN OWN TOURNEY, HOOD WINS RAMADA INN CLASSIC
TITLE OVER LVC
WILKES-BARRE -- King's College finished in third place in the
Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic with a 91-74 win over Susquehanna University.
In the championship game, Hood College posted a 62-57 win over Lebanon
Valley.
The Monarchs game out of the gates on fire and opened up a 58-34
half-time lead , shooting 62.5 (20-32) percent from the floor.
Susquehanna drew no closer than 17 points in the second half.
Vince Scalzo led the way for King's with 25 points and eight rebounds
with 18 points coming in the first half. Scalzo hit on 9-of-11 shots,
including 5-of-6 from three-point range. Jamie Cousart followed with 22
points four rebounds and three steals. Mike Wagner netted nine points
while Kofi Dwebeng and Kevin Conroy added eight each.
Josh Robinson and Kevin Cuff paced Susquehanna with 15 points each.

HOOD DOWNS LEBANON VALLEY FOR TOURNEY TITLE
Hood College won the Ramada Inn/Monarch
Classic with a 62-57 victory over Lebanon Valley College Wednesday at
King's College, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
In the title game, Jesse Gutenkunst earned tournament most valuable
player honors after scoring 22 points with 11 rebounds, three assists,
six steals, and three blocked shots. Ryan Junghans followed with
11 points while Anthony Bennett earned a spot on the al-tournament team
with 10 points.
For Lebanon Valley, Dan Hodge secured a berth on the all-tournament team
after scoring 19 points with four rebounds and two assists. Peter Ruth
tallied 13 points with five rebounds while Kyle Enoch was also named to
the all-tournament squad after scoring five points with five assists,
three rebounds, and two steals.
