COUSART NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College men's basketball standout Jamie Cousart (Holland/Holy Ghost Prep) has been named the Freedom Conference "Player of the Week, the Middle Atlantic Conferences Office announced Monday.

Cousart led King's to a 1-1 week and scored his 1,000th career point in the process. In a 80-72 road win over Kean University, Cousart scored a team-high 15 points with eight assists and five rebounds. In a last minute 73-68 loss at unbeaten defending Commonwealth Conference champion Widener (7-0), Cousart scored a season-high 22 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career. He also added five rebounds and three assists with one steal in the game.

For the week, he averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per-game while shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the foul line.

Cousart is currently averaging 15.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists while shooting 56.8 (25-44) percent from the field and 64.7 (22-34) percent from the foul line.

King's (3-2) will return to action Thursday at 7:00 p.m. when the Monarchs travel to face Baptist Bible College at 7:00 p.m. in Clarks Summit.
