WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's basketball team received the news it was hoping to hear when the Monarchs were awarded a first-round home game in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

King's learned it will host Clarkson University of Potsdam, NY Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium. Ticket prices have been set by the NCAA at $6.00 for adults, and $3.00 each for seniors and students. Children age-two and under shall be admitted free. No passes will be accepted.

King's (19-8) earned its second straight NCAA berth and its third in four years with a 71-62 win over DeSales University in Saturday's Freedom Conference championship game. The Monarchs will enter the NCAA tournament with a nine-game winning streak.

Clarkson  (11-16) will be making its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after making a tremendous run to win the Liberty League championship. The Golden Knights stunned top-seeded St. Lawrence 54-48 in the semi-finals, then shocked second-seeded Hamilton College 58-53 to win the conference title and secure an automatic berth into the Division III tournament.

The King's-Clarkson winner will then travel to face SUNY-Plattsburg (26-2) Saturday in Plattsburgh, NY at 7:00 p.m.
