KING'S TO HOST
CLARKSON IN DIVISION III NATIONAL TOURNAMENT OPENER THURSDAY AT 7:00
P.M.

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College
men's basketball team received the news it was hoping to hear when the
Monarchs were awarded a first-round home game in the NCAA Division III
National Tournament.
King's learned it will host Clarkson University of Potsdam, NY Thursday
at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium. Ticket prices have been set by the
NCAA at $6.00 for adults, and $3.00 each for seniors and students.
Children age-two and under shall be admitted free. No passes will be
accepted.
King's
(19-8) earned its second straight NCAA berth and its third in four years
with a 71-62 win over DeSales University in Saturday's Freedom
Conference championship game. The Monarchs will enter the NCAA
tournament with a nine-game winning streak.
Clarkson (11-16) will be making its first-ever NCAA Tournament
appearance after making a tremendous run to win the Liberty League
championship. The Golden Knights stunned top-seeded St. Lawrence 54-48
in the semi-finals, then shocked second-seeded Hamilton College 58-53 to
win the conference title and secure an automatic berth into the Division
III tournament.
The King's-Clarkson winner will then travel to face SUNY-Plattsburg
(26-2) Saturday in Plattsburgh, NY at 7:00 p.m.
