SOBOLESKI NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College men's basketball standout John Soboleski has been selected as the Freedom Conference "Player of the Week", the Middle Atlantic Conferences office announced Monday.

Soboleski enjoyed a banner week as the Monarchs went 2-0 and won their fifth straight game. In a 110-82 win over Penn College, Soboleski posted a pair of career-highs with 28 points and 19 rebounds. Soboleski followed up with 28 more points and 13 rebounds as the Monarchs knocked Manhattanville out of a first-place tie in the Freedom Conference with a 107-78 triumph.

In the game, Soboleski also registered his 1,000th career point. For the week, the Monarch senior shot 66.7 (18-27) percent from the field and 74.1 (20-27) percent from the foul line. For the week, he averaged 28.0 points, 16 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks per-game.

Soboleski and his King's teammates will return to the court Tuesday when the Monarchs travel to face Wilkes University at 8:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
