MONARCH MEN ROUTE FDU-FLORHAM, 97-54MADISON, NJ -- The King's College men's basketball team shot a scorching 58.5 percent for the game as the Monarchs overwhelmed host FDU-Florham with a 97-54 victory Saturday in Madison, NJ.
With the win, King's improved to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the Freedom Conference while the Devils fell to 2-18 and 1-6.
King's shot 56.7 (17-30) percent in the first half to take a 47-24 lead into the halftime break. The Monarchs were even hotter in the second half, shooting at a 60 (21-35) percent clip while netting 50 points over the final 20 minutes of play. The big lead allowed Monarch coach J.P. Andrejko ample opportunity to utilize 15 players with no Monarch playing more than 24 minutes.
John Soboleski led the way with 17 points and six rebounds in just 23 minutes of play. Jamie Cousart and Vince Scalzo scored 10 points with three rebounds apiece.Jim Schule tallied nine points while Kofi Dwebeng netted eight. Ian Gilmartin chipped in with a season-high seven points.
Ryan McPherson led FDU with 17 points while Ricky Fetszke added 10.
