2008 ANDREJKO'S BOY'S BASKETBALL CAMPS SET FOR KINGS

WILKES-BARRE -- The 2008 Andrejko Basketball Camps will be held this summer on the campus of King's College, Wilkes-Barre.   

Two camps, from June 23-27 and again July 14-18, will be directed by King's College head men's basketball coach J.P. Andrejko and conducted in Scandlon Gymnasium on the college campus.

Andrejko has led King's to seven straight post-season tournament berths, including the 2005, 2007, and 2008 MAC Freedom Conference Championships, a 2005 NCAA Division III National Tournament "Elite Eight" appearance, and 2007 and 2008 NCAA Division III National Tournament berths. He was named the 2005 Freedom Conference "Coach of the Year".  He also led the Monarchs to the 2006 MAC Freedom regular-season co-championship.

The camp is open to boys ages 8-15 and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Friday's session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony beginning at 2:00 p.m.

J.P. ANDREJKO
Coach Andrejko recently completed his seventh year as the Monarchs' head basketball coach.  His teams have qualified for the MAC Freedom Conference playoffs each year. Andrejko led King's to the 2005, 2007, and 2008 conference championship, the NCAA National Tournament "Elite Eight" in 2005, the NCAA Tournament in 2007 and 2008, and was named the 2005 MAC Freedom "Coach of the Year". He also led the Monarchs to the 2006 MAC Freedom regular-season co-championship.

As a former star collegiate player at the University of Scranton, Andrejko was a two-time NCAA All-American and a two-time Academic All-American.  

CAMP STAFF
JEFF ANDREJKO
Coach Jeff Andrejko completed his seventh year as a member of the King's College coaching staff.  Prior to his arrival at King's, he completed a successful nine-year tenure as assistant coach at Bishop O'Hara High School. He also played collegiate basketball at the University of Scranton.

RICH GRAY
Coach Rich Gray completed his fifth season as an assistant at King's. Gray came to King's in 2003-04 after serving as an assistant boy's basketball coach at Bishop Hoban High School in Wilkes-Barre.  Gray was a former standout player at Bishop Hoban where was the team's leading scorer and served as a team captain as a senior.  Upon graduation from Bishop Hoban in 1999, he continued his education at King's College.


***Current players on the King's men's basketball squad will also serve as staff members.


PHILOSOPHY
The J.P. Andrejko Basketball Camps are designed to provide a fun, challenging, and educational experience for boys ages 8-15.  Quality instruction will be provided at stations, lectures, competitions, and games in an enthusiastic, safe manner.  

It is our hope that each camper has a positive and fun-filled week while gaining skills to help them become better basketball players.
