KING'S BASEBALL TEAM DOWNS MISERICORDIA
19-7
DALLAS --
The King's College baseball team prepped for the upcoming defense of
its Freedom Conference championship as the Monarchs posted a 19-7
victory over host College Misericordia Monday in Dallas.
With
the win, King's extended its single-season record for school
victories as the Monarchs improved to 27-9 on the year.
Mike Venarchick (left) led the
way by going 4-for-6 with four doubles and five RBI.
Josh Faust went 3-for-6 with a
double and three RBI. Jeremy Faust
and J.R. Graver were both
3-for-6 with a double and RBI while Jon
Venarchick finished 2-for-5 with two runs one double and
a RBI.
Caleb Calarco,
Pat McGlynn, and
Vince Budzyn each added one base
hit and two RBI each while Matt Livoy
chipped in with a single and scored one run.
Freshman Ryan Tychinski (4-0)
picked up the win, going six innings and allowing four runs, all
earned, on eight hits while striking out one batter.
The Monarchs will open up Freedom Conference Tournament play Friday
at 7:30 p.m. when King's faced third-seeded FDU-Florham at
Quakertown Memorial Park. Top-seeded DeSales will meet Wilkes
in the 4:00 p.m. opener. The event will continue Saturday and
Sunday in Quakertown.
