KING'S BASEBALL EDGES LORAS, 3-2
WILKES-BARRE -- Freshman pitcher Dan Jenkins threw eight innings of
two-hit baseball while striking out eight batters in his collegiate
debut as the King's College baseball team defeated Loras College of Iowa
3-2 Monday in Port Charlotte, Fla.
With the win, King's improved to 2-1 on the year.
Jenkins enjoyed an outstanding first-game for King's as he allowed just
one earned run and walked only two batters. Offensively, Josh
Faust was 2-for-4 with an RBI while Mike Venarchick went 1-for-4 with an
RBI and scored a run for the Monarchs.
Pat McGlynn also went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Caleb Calarco was
2-for-4 while J.R. Graver was 1-for-4 and scored a run.
King's returns to action Tuesday with a 9:30 a.m. doubleheader against
Bethany Lutheran.
