CHALLENGER DIVISION BASEBALL GAME AT SET AT KING'S
WILKES-BARRE -- As the King's College baseball team prepares this week
for their third consecutive Freedom Conference playoff appearance, the
team will take a break from workouts on Wednesday, May 3, for a more
important endeavor.
The Monarchs will host the Wyoming Valley Challenger Division Baseball
League for an evening of fun, food and games at Betzler Fields at 6:00
p.m.
This is an event that the King's baseball team has participated in over
the past four years to assist the local league.
This event has become an evening that is not only enjoyed by the
challenger players, but is also cherished by the King's players as one
of their most rewarding experiences as college students.
Challenger division baseball is a league that is designed for children
that experience physical and/or mental challenges and want to enjoy the
game of baseball. Former King's assistant coach Rob Cardoni, who passed
away this past December, was an avid supporter of this event. Family and
friends of Coach Cardoni donated $1,000.00 in his memory to help support
the local league.
If you are looking for a fun and rewarding experience please come out
and help cheer on these super athletes in what King's coach Jerry
Greeley terms as "the most important event that is played in the Wyoming
Valley all year."
Members of the King's community, and residents of the Wyoming Valley,
are invited to attend . It will be a time to be remembered.
