DESALES TAKES TWO TO POST SERIES SWEEP OF KING'S
CENTER VALLEY -- The King's
College baseball team dropped a Freedom Conference doubleheader at DeSales
University Saturday in Center Valley.
The defending Freedom Conference champion Bulldogs won by scores of 7-3
and 14-0 to improve to 15-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. King's
slipped to 10-7 and 4-5 in league games.
In the opener, King's managed 10 base hits but stranded seven
runners. Josh Faust was 2-for-3 with one run and an RBI while twin brother
Jeremy Faust was 2-for-4. Dan Buckley was 2-for-3, including a
double. Jason Siebert and Matt Livoy each had one hit and scored a
run. Rob Medlock took the complete game pitching loss in allowing
seven earned runs on 11 base hits.
Ian Hauze was 3-for-4 with three RBI while Kyle Hoffman was 2-for-4 to
pace the Bulldogs in the opener.
In the nightcap, DeSales exploded for seven runs in the first inning and
never looked back. The Bulldogs also rode the arm of pitcher Anthony
Palmieri who tossed a complete-game two-hitter. Josh Faust and Buckley
posted the only hits for King's.
DeSales had 14 hits as Brian Podolak was 2-for-2 with three runs and two
RBI. Nolan Nieman was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
King's will host Baptist Bible College in a doubleheader Monday at 2:00
p.m.
