KING'S BASEBALL SPLITS WITH DREW
MADISON, NJ -- The King's College
baseball team split a Freedom Conference doubleheader at Drew University
Saturday in Madison, NJ.
King's won the first game 6-3 while the
Rangers captured the nightcap 8-7. With the split, the Monarchs won the
three-game season series against Drew by a 2-1 count, improving to 12-11
overall and 6-4 in conference play.
In the first game, Josh Faust was
3-for-4 with an RBI while Bill Drazdowski went 2-for-4 with a double and
RBI while scoring two runs. Charlie Jenkins was 2-for-4 with an RBI while
Nick Sorino added a pair of RBI. Chris Persak earned the pitching victory
lasting six innings, striking out five batters while allowing six hits,
three runs. Robb Medlock picked up the save after throwing one scoreless
inning while striking out two batters.
In the second game, Sorino was 2-for-2
with a double and two RBI. Jenkins went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run
in the fifth inning. Jason Seibert added an RBI double while Bill
Drazdowski scored three runs. Paul Bankit took the loss, lasting three and
one-third inning, allowing seven runs on seven hits.
King's travels to Arcadia University
Sunday at 1:00 p.m. before returning home to host Delaware Valley Tuesday
at 3:30 p.m. at Betzler Fields.
