PERSAK TOSSES TWO-HITTER AS KING'S BASEBALL POSTS 6-0 WIN OVER JOHN JAY

HOMESTEAD, FLA -- Senior righthander Chris Persak tossed a complete-game two-hitter to lead the King's College baseball team to a 6-0 victory over John Jay College Friday in Homestead, Fla.

Persak struck out a career-high 11 batters while yielding just one walk as the Monarchs improved to 4-2 on the year.

Freshman Adam Tkaczyk, a Dallas High School product, went 2-for-3 two doubles, three RBI and scored two runs. Senior Charlie Jenkins was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run while rookie Mike Venarchick.

King's pushed across five runs in the fourth inning to secure the win. Nick Sorino led off with a double and scored on a single by Jenkins. Rob Medlock then reached on an error before Geoff Ashton singled to load the bases. Tkaczyk then delivered the big blow of the inning with a three run double.

King's will close out its Florida trip on Saturday with games against the US Coast Guard Academy and Western New England College. The Monarchs will then make their home debut Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against College Misericordia.
