KING'S BASEBALL DROPS FINALE TO
SUSQUEHANNA
SELINSGROVE -- The King's College
baseball team lost its season finale to Susquehanna University by a 13-4
count Monday in Selinsgrove.
With the game tied 2-2, Susquehanna
capitalized on three Monarch errors to push across 10 runs in the bottom
half of the second inning. For the game, King's hurt itself with six
errors.
Seth Temple led the Monarchs with a
4-for-5 effort Jeremy Sauers was 2-for-4 with one RBI; Kevin Wells was
2-for-4 with a double and scored one run; while Chris Persak went 2-for-4
with a run scored. Nick Sorino, Chris Rispoli, Tim Granquist all had one
hit each.
Matt Loringer took the loss for King's,
allowing 10 runs, six which were earned, in one and one-thirds innings.
Brian pitched four and two-thirds innings and allowed five runs, three
which were earned. Branden Kieffer pitched the final two innings and
allowed one hit.
Despite the loss, King's showed much
improvement from last season's 11-24 squad as the Monarchs concluded the
2003 campaign at 14-16.
With the loss of just three seniors to
graduation, King's figures to again make vast improvement in the 2004
season.
