KING'S BASEBALL SWEEPS ONEONTA
ONEONTA, NY -- The King's College
baseball team picked up a pair of victories Sunday as the Monarchs posted
a doubleheader sweep of SUNY-Oneonta in Oneonta, NY.
King's won the first game 6-4 before
capturing the nightcap 5-3.
In the opener, King's was led by
freshman Nick Sorino who 3-for-4 with two RBI and a pair doubles. Chris
Rispoli was also 3-for-4 with two RBI. Paul Kapral picked up the pitching
victory, lasting six innings and allowing just four hits. Kyle Ehlis
picked up the save after tossing one hitless inning.
In the second game, Rispoli went
3-for-4 with two RBI, while Jeremy Sauers was 2-for-4 and scored a pair of
runs. Chris Persak was the winning pitcher for King's, allowing five hits
and three runs in six and two-thirds innings. Ehlis again picked up the
save, posting a strikeout in one-third of an inning.
The Monarchs, who improved to 14-15 on
the year, will close out the season Monday with a 4:00 p.m. contest at
Susquehanna University
