KING'S BASEBALL OUTLASTS WESTFIELD
STATE 13-11
ORLANDO, FLA -- The King's College
baseball team evened its season mark at 4-4 as the Monarchs
outlasted Westfield State College 13-11 Saturday in the Orlando
Invitational, Orlando, Fla.
The Monarchs scored one run in each of the third and fourth innings,
then added two more in the fifth before exploding for six in the
sixth frame to build a 13-5 lead.
Matt Colgan led the way with two hits, three runs, and four RBI,
while Jon Venarchick followed with three hits and two RBI. Ryan
Knowles added two hits, three runs, and an RBI while Matt Unger also
tallied three hits and an RBI. J.R. Graver delivered three hits, two
runs, and an RBI while Gracjan Kraszewski chipped in with two hits,
two runs and an RBI.
Starting pitcher Matt Livoy picked up the win, lasting five innings
and yielding four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts. Adam Depko
picked up the save, tossing two-thirds innings, allowing one hit
with one strikeout.
