MUHLENBERG, KEYSTONE BASEBALL OUTSLUGS
KING'S, 13-9, 12-9
ORLANDO, FLA -- The King's College
baseball team score nine runs in each game but it wasn't enough
as the Monarchs fell 13-9 to Muhlenberg, then 12-9 to Keystone Tuesday in Orlando, Fla.
Moravian held a 3-0 lead heading into the fifth, but the Mules
exploded for six runs to take a 9-0 lead. The Monarchs attempted to
rally with a six-run eighth inning to cut the score to 13-9. King's
Matt Colgan would single to start the ninth, but the Mules worked
out of the jam to hold on to the win.
Jon Venarchick led King's with a 4-for-6 effort with a three-run
home run and two runs scored. Ryan Knowles was 2-for-3 with three
RBI while Pat McGlynn went 2-for-4 with two runs. Matt Colgan was
2-for-2 with a double while Gracjan Kraszewski went 2-for-5 with one
run scored.
Matt Livoy contributed with a double while J.R. Graver, Matt Feci,
and Matt Unger each added a base hit.
Joe Jenkins took the loss for King's, allowing five runs, four
earned, on six hits in 5.2 innings of work. Jenkins struck out two
batters while walking a pair.
Against Keystone, Graver was 3-for-6 with three runs scored. Livoy
went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. McGlynn drove in two runs
while Colgan was 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored.
Kraszewski, Joe Tucker and Rob Bergman all had runs scoring singles.
J.T. Levonick was the losing pitcher, allowing nine runs, five
earned, on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
