ROSSOWSKI BREAKS SCHOOL-RECORDS FOR KING'S
SWIMMERS AT E-TOWN
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Freshman standout Christy Rossowski
broke the school record in the 200 individual medley for the second time
this season, then snapped another mark as the King's College swim teams dropped a pair of decisions to
host Elizabethtown College Wednesday in Elizabethtown. The King's women fell
by a 97-65 margin, while the men's team dropped a 108-78 decision.
Rossowski broke the 200 individual medley school-record she
set on November 4 against Cabrini (2:26.93) by swimming a 2:26.82 against
Elizabethtown. She also captured
the100-butterfly with a new school-record time of 1:04.11, bettering the
previous mark of
1:04.37 by Mary Medina in 1982 She
also finished second in the 500-freestyle at
5:58.38. Sophomore Michelle Kotula finished first in the 100-breaststroke
with a time of 1:22.40 for the Lady Monarchs.
For the men, freshman Andrew Kulp won the
1000-freestyle with a time of 10:55.78, then followed up by capturing the
100-butterfly at 55.60. Freshman Steven Kneidl won the 50-freestyle with a
25.47, while fellow rookie John Wardle touched in first in the 500 freestyle
with a 5:37.07.
King's will compete Friday and Saturday at the Kutztown University
Invitational. Friday's swimming will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Saturday's
action commencing at 10:00 a.m.
