KING'S SWIMMERS OPEN AT
LEBANON VALLEY
ANNVILLE -- The King's College
men's and women's swim teams opened the 2006-07 season with respective
losses to Lebanon Valley College Saturday in Annville.
The men's team fell by a 128-67 count while the Lady Monarchs lost 142-52.
In the process, two King's swimmers posted MAC qualifying times.
Freshman Christy Rossowski made a solid collegiate debut by winning three
events. Rossowski won the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:23.56
while also capturing the 400-meter freestyle at 5:08.13. She also
emerged victorious in the 100 butterfly with a 1:13.78.
Fellow rookie Andrew Kulp was also strong in capturing the 200-freestyle
with a 2:10.23, while also winning the 100-meter butterfly at 1:03.28.
Rossowski and Kulp posted MAC qualifying times in each of the above-named
events.
Allison Gibbons was third in the 50-meter freestyle at 32.13. Steve Kneidl
was second in the 100-freestyle at 1:03.10 and was also third in the
50-freestyle with a 27.45.
Jon Wardle was second in the 800-frestyle with a 10:18.66. Sean McGee was
second in the 100-back stroke at 1:14.72. Michael Flynn was second in
the 100-breast stroke at 1:22.52 while Nick Ponte was third with a 1:28.30.
King's returns to action on Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. tri-match with Cabrini
College and the College of Notre Dame at Cabrini.
