KING'S SWIMMERS DROP OPENERS

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams dropped
their season-opening contests Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The King's men fell to Lebanon Valley College 118-60, while the Lady
Monarchs dropped a 75-17 decision to Cabrini as well as a 84-9 verdict to Lebanon
Valley.
In the men's meet Evan Macluskey won the 200-freestyle with a 2:00.89 while
placing second in the 100-freestyle at 54.04. Scott Klabunde was second in
the 100-back stroke with a 1:07.76 and was third in the 200 freestyle at
2:08.65.
Matt Herr won the 100-breast stroke at 1:06.53
while finishing second in the 200 individual medley with a 2:17.13. Wes
Hutchins was second in the 500-freestyle with a 6:05.24 while David McBride
was third at 6:23.41. The Monarch team of Sheldon Broedel, Hutchins,
McBride, and Travis Nicolette were second in the 200 medley relay with a
time of 2:06.69.
For the women, Carly DeGrezia was third in the 50-freestyle with a 28.60 and
third in the 100-freestyle at 1:03.45.
