MEN'S SWIMMING DOWNS FDU, WOMEN FALL

MADISON, NJ -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams split meets
at FDU-Florham Saturday in Madison, NJ. The men defeated FDU by a score of
112-29 while the Lady Monarch fell to FDU 65-26.
For the men, Wes Hutchins led the way by winning three events, including the
100 breast stroke (1:14.27), the 200 back stroke (2:30.50), and was part of
the Monarchs 200 medley relay winning team (1:59.84) along with Matt Herr,
Eric Kostuk, and Evan Maclusky. Maclusky won the 100 butterfly with a
1:05.53 as well as the 200 freestyle with a 2:26.53.
Kostuk won the 50 freestyle with a 24.46 while Herr captured the 1000
freestyle at 12:56.41. King's team of Sheldon Broedel, Dave McBride, Travis
Nicolette, and Kostuk also captured the 200 freestyle relay at 1:44.34.
For the women, Carly DeGrezia won the 50 freestyle with a time of 0:27.65
and followed up by capturing the 100 freestyle at 1:04.41. Amanda Liotine
was second in the 200 freestyle with a 2:27.04 while also placing second in
the 100 backstroke at 1:22.31.
King's will next compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships
Friday through Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre C.Y.C.
