MISERICORDIA SWIMMERS DOWN KINGS
WILKES-BARRE -- The College Misericordia men's and
women's swim teams posted a doubleheader sweep of King's College Wednesday
evening in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The Cougar men won by a 120-82 score while the women's
team was victorious 161-36.
The Misericordia men were led by William Gagliardi who
won the 200 individual medley (2:13.49) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.34) for
the Cougars while Peter Yelacic captured the 1,000 freestyle (10:55.72) and
the 500 freestyle 5:14.12).
Brandon Stanchock won the 50 freestyle (24.27) while
Matt Herr captured the 100 breast stroke (1:07.05).
For the Cougar women, Lisa Mitchell won the 1,000
freestyle (12:14.45) and the 500 freestyle (5:58.27). Rachel Blass captured
the 100 butterfly (1:07.11) and the 200 freestyle (2:10.10).
For King's, Sarah Futrovsky was second in the 100 back
stroke (1:11.43) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:36.47).
