KING'S SWIMMERS SPLIT WITH FDU
(Monarch Men Win Third Meet Of The Year)
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's
College men's swim team continued to show its improvement as the Monarchs
posted a 100-62 victory over FDU-Florham Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium. The
King's women, meanwhile, fell to FDU 110-61.
With the win, King's men improved to 3-6 while the women fell to 0-12.
For the Monarch men, David McBride won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of
13:21.01. Brandon Stanchock captured the 50 0fresstyle with a time of
24.15. Matt Herr won the 200 individual medley at 2:17.76 and was
second in the 100 breast stroke with a 1:08.41 Justin Kucinski won the
100 freestyle with a 55.10 and was second in the 100 backstroke at 1:12.79
Ryan Norton was victorious in the 100 back stroke with a 1:11.77. Sheldon
Broedel was second in the 200 freestyle at 2:22.08 and in the 100 freestyle
with a 1:00.66. Chris Morris was second in the 50 freestyle at 25.91,
Gary Morrison was second in the 100 butterfly with a 1:07.47
King's team of Herr, Stanchock, Kucinski, Morrison won the 200 freestyle
relay with a time of 1:39.61.
For the women, Sarah Futrovsky won the 200 individual medley with a 2:36.19
and also the 100 back stroke 1:10.62.
Kitrina Nederrtek was second in
the 100 breast stroke with a 1:27.96. Regina
Schmerfeld was second in the 1,000 freestyle with a 15:03.58. Amanda
Booth was second in the 100 freestyle with a 1:02.31 and was third in the 50
freestyle at 28.39.
King's will next compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships
Friday through Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
