STENCOVAGE PLACES THIRD TO HIGHLIGHT KING'S DAY-TWO MAC EFFORTSWILKES-BARRE -- Eric Stencovage placed third in the 100-breaststroke to highlight the second day of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships for the King's College swim team.
Stencovage (left) posted a time of 1:02.33 to finish behind Steven Goss of Widener (1:00.60) and runner-up Jeff Clark of Misericordia (1:00.67). In the preliminary round earlier in the day, Stencovage set a new school-record in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:01.37. He bettered the long-time King's record of 1:03.50 set by Kevin Strange in 1980.
Caleb Farrell was 14th in the same event with a time of 1:12.53. Sean McGee was 14th in the 100-backstroke with a 1:01.91.
King's 200-medley relay team of McGee, Stencovage, Brian Seslar and Pat Seslar were seventh with a school-record time of 1:46.64.The Monarchs 800-freestyle relay team of McGee, Stencovage, and Pat and Brian Seslar also set a school-record of 8:08.12
For the women' Sarah Schmader (right) was ninth in the 400 individual medley with a school-record time of 5:17.91. Maggie Nealer was 10th in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:10.38. Becca Smith was 15th in the 100-backstroke at 1:11.67
King's 200-medley relay team of Smith, Schmader, Jess Thomas, and Nealer were seventh with a time of 2:07.73.
