2008 King's MAC Championship Meet Qualifiers
2007-08 Swim Team Highlights

The swimming program at King's has made great strides in recent years and is expected to take even bigger steps with the hiring of Alicia Kemnitz as the program's first-ever full-time coach during the summer of 2005.

With the college's administration making a greater commitment to the sport by hiring a full-time coach, the future of swimming at King's College has never looked brighter.

Over the past two years virtually every swimmer in the program has broken their personal best times with Kemnitz at the helm.

Several swimmers have captured Middle Atlantic Conference championships over the years. In 1998, Czech Republic native Petr Novak was named the MAC's outstanding swimmer, while many others have finished among the top place-winners in the conference meet.

King's swimmers have traditionally excelled in the classroom as a number of team members have been named to the MAC All-Academic Team.

King's swimming has been instrumental in bringing the annual MAC Championships to the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center, located just a half-mile from the college campus.

Since the 2004 championship meet, King's swimmers are able to compete for a conference title just blocks away from campus.

Team members practice and compete in King's Pool in Scandlon Gymnasium and swim in approximately 12 meets during the season.  At the conclusion of the regular season, King's swimmers then compete in the annual Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. The event is hosted by the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center and is located less than a mile from King's College.
