WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY 25TH, MEN 28TH AT NCAA
REGIONALS
BETHLEHEM -- The King's College women's cross
country team placed 25th, its best finish ever at the NCAA Mid-east
regional Championships Saturday at Lehigh University. The Monarch men,
meanwhile, were 28th.
Ed Kopec posted the best finish for all King's runners, checking at 42nd
among a field of 281 runners with a time of 26:18 in the 8K race. Justin
Winters was 98th at 27:112 to lead the King's attack. Also for King's,
Derek Call was 163rd (28:13); Mike Gavlick finished 217th (29:22; Pat
Sammon was 251st (30:56); Dan Byrne came in 261st at 32:00; while Jay
Falcone checked in at 266th (32:34). Five Monarch men ran personal bests
on the day.
For the women, Kelley Weidwald was 72nd amongst a field of 267 runners
with a time of 23:49. Tori Posatko was 108th (24:28); Heather Elphick
came in 172nd with a 25:43; Julie Dural was 174th at 25:45; Rachael
Barto ran 186th with a time of 26:12; while Hannah Eckles finished 235th
at 29:14. Every King's female runner ran a personal best in the event.
