KING'S CROSS COUNTRY BOTH PLACE 6TH
WILKES-BARRE, PA --At the Misericordia University
Cougar Invitational, both the King's men's and women's teams came in
sixth in their respective fields. The men's event was 8K and the women's
was a 5K
On the men's side, they finished 6th of eleven,
scoring 97 points. The Monarchs were paced by Brandon Sweeney, who
finished the 8K in 30:03 for 49th place. Patrick Sammon was just behind
him, finishing in 30:16 and 51st place. Jeff Cort was close behind at
30:50 for 53rd. Not even a minute later, Ryan Glenn crossed the line at
31:12. Dan Byrne rounded out the King's scoring effort with a time of
31:54 and 64th place.
A few minutes later, a whole pack of Monarchs came
across the line in 71st, 72nd and 74th place. Vince Pecora finished in
32:36 for the 6th spot on the team in 71st. Close on his heels in 72nd
was JJ Nicastro with a time of 32:46. Jay Falcone finished in 74th at
32:54. Rob Sanpietro finished in 35:36.
In the 93 person women's event, the Monarchs
finished in 6th of 9. Tori Posatko led the Monarchs' scoring with a time
of 19:47 for 7th place. Kelley Wiedwald found herself in the front half
of the pack with a time of 21:02 for 27th place. The pack of Heather
Elphick, Molly Brown and Shannon McGowan all finished in 47th, 50th, and
51st respectively. Elphick posted a 22:10, Brown a 22:15 and McGowan
finished at 22:17. Hannah Eckles rounded out the Lady Monarchs with a
time of 26:42.
