KING'S MEN X.C. 30TH AT NCAA REGIONALS, WOMEN 31ST
WAYNESBURG -- The King's College cross country
teams concluded the 2006 season at the NCAA Mideast Regional
Championships at Waynesburg College, Waynesburg.
King's men finished 30th in the field of 44 teams while the women's
squad was 31st of 46 squads.
For the men, Monarch junior Ed Kopec paved the way by finishing 82nd
among 268 male runners with a 28:41 in the 8K race. Matt Hall (29:16)
was 109th, Derek Call (31:02) finished 193rd; Justin Winters (31:02) ran
194th; while Matt Washo (32:10) was 217th. Other King's runners included
Vince Pecora (34:10) who finished 243rd, while David Davis (334:49 was
245th.
On the women's side, sophomore Kelley Weidwald was the top Lady Monarch,
checking in at 114th with a time of 26:52 among 272 female runners. She
was joined by Maria DeMuro (27:54) who was 160th; Alison Taroli (28:44)
finished 191st; Kate Musto (29:38) was 106th; while Julie Dural (30:39)
came in at 226th.
