105 ENTRANTS COMPETE IN PARKER PALERMO RUN
WILKES-BARRE -- The King’s
College Cross Country Team successfully hosted the first Parker
Palermo Memorial Run Sunday at Kirby Park. Both the male and female
races were 5K.
A total of 105 runners competed to honor the late King's cross
country runner who passed away suddenly on September 11, 2006.
The proceeds were raised to benefit the 4 Paws Spay & Neuter program in Wilkes-Barre.
Parker was a native of Spencerport, New York and was a 2003 graduate of
King’s College. He participated in cross country for three seasons
at King’s. Parker was an avid runner and completed his first
marathon, the Reckson Long Island Marathon May 7, 2006. Parker
worked at the Plains Animal Hospital as a Vet-Tech, with hopes of
going to Veterinary School.

was followed in the top-five by Thomas Nallom (18:46), Mike
Dougherty (19:37), Mike Gavlick (19:42), and Jared Mionetola
