KING'S CROSS COUNTRY 21ST AT NCAA REGIONAL

PITTSBURGH -- The King's College men's cross country team ended its season by finishing 21st at the NCAA Regional Championships at Allegheny College.

King's was led by senior Chuck Dinofrio who placed 20th and missed a place in the Division III national Championships by three spots. Dinofrio ran a 26:41 in the 8,000-meter race and earned a spot on the All-Regional Team.

Ed Kopec was 85th for King's with a time of 28:03. The Monarch rookie earned a spot on the Regional All-Freshmen Team as a second-team selection for his efforts.

Justin Winters followed at 126th with a 28:36.  Patrick Lyons was 149th with a 29:13 while Matt Hall finished 180th at 29:51. Derek Call was 183rd at 29:55, while Matt Washo checked in at 195th with a 30:18.

The King's women were not eligible due to only four runners competing. Maria DeMuro topped the Lady Monarchs with a finish of 116th at a time of 25:31 in the 6,000 meter race. Allison Taroli was 184th with a 27:35. Mary Beth Clark stood 197th at 27:38, while Jessica Schillawski was 240th with a tie of 29:47.
