KING'S MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SECOND AT ALLEGHENY INVITATIONAL

Pittsburgh -- The King's College men's cross country team opened the 2004 season on a strong note as the Monarchs placed second in the Allegheny College Invitational Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Monarch senior Chuck Dinofrio was second in the event with a time of 27:52, following event winner Ryan Place of Allegheny with a 27:52.

Ed Kopec placed fourth for King's at 28:31 while Patrick Lyons was ninth at 29:17. Justin Winters was 11th at 29:35 while James Saur and Derek Call were 14th and 15th respectively each with times of 29:58 and 29:59.

The King's women finished in seventh place and were paced by Maria DeMuro who was 11th with a 26:06. Alison Taroli was 31st at 28:04 to aid the Lady Monarchs.
