Apply to Become an Ambassador

Who are the Monarch Ambassadors?
The Monarch Ambassadors are student volunteers who assist the Admissions Office in the overall recruitment of new students to King's. They serve as representatives of King's College by providing tours and assisting with Open House and other special visitation programs.

What exactly do Monarch Ambassadors do?
The primary responsibility of the Monarch Ambassadors is to provide tours for prospective students and their families. The Monarch Ambassadors are trained to show the campus in a positive and informative way, and to give students a good sense of what life is like at King's. They also assist with Open House programs and other special visitation programs, helping families find their way around campus, answering questions and providing a helpful, friendly contact throughout the day. They may also serve as lunch hosts and/or class hosts, travel with admissions staff to receptions for prospective students, and assist when necessary with Campus Plunge and other overnight stay programs.

What is Admissions looking for in a Monarch Ambassador?
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic student in good academic standing, committed to King's College and the goals of the Admissions Office. Monarch Ambassadors must be comfortable speaking in front of groups, and be able to articulate the various strengths of the King's experience: academic, social, and extra-curricular. Students should be friendly, outgoing, and courteous, and willing to share their good feelings about King's with prospective students.

What is expected of a Monarch Ambassador?
A Monarch Ambassador is asked to give a minimum of 3 scheduled tours per month. Tour guides are also expected to write a short follow-up note to students they tour. In addition to the regularly-scheduled tours Monday through Friday, Ambassadors may also be asked to help on occasional weekends. Other expectations include attendance at all required training sessions and meetings, and attendance at Open House and other special programs.
